Philippine stocks up 2.14 per cent
Philippine share prices rose 2.14 per cent on Thursday as investors snapped up blue chips on a bargain hunting spree.
The Philippine Stock Exchange's 30-share composite index added 51.73 points to close at 2,467.56 from Wednesday's finish of 2,415.83.
A total of 974.34 million shares worth 3.07 billion pesos (63.95 million dollars) were traded.
Gainers led losers 90 to 12, while 47 issues were unchanged.
Traders said market sentiment was also boosted by upticks in major Asian markets despite a dip in the Dow Jones overnight.
