Shares surge 2.1 per cent in Seoul
Shares surged 2.1 per cent Thursday on the Seoul stock exchange led by foreign and institutional buying.
The benchmark Kospi index rose 28.94 points to close at 1,392.73. Advancing stocks outpaced losers 678 to 155.
The main index of the technology-heavy Kosdaq market went up 9.03 points to 504.03, or 1.79 per cent.
On currency markets, the US dollar was quoted at 1,288.80 Korean won, up from 1,283.50 won on Wednesday.
