Skin Rejuvenation Process Cited as Reason for Sosa's Lighter Skin Tone
Recently snapped shots of former Chicago Cubs slugger, Sammy Sosa, have shocked fans and just about everyone all over the world, as the star player has been shown sporting a much lighter skin tone, more like a stark white skin tone, which is total contrast with what people are used to. Also, he seems to be sporting green contact lenses everywhere he goes.
While there are many speculations surrounding the sudden change in Sosa's skin color, former Cubs employee and friend of the ex-player, Rebecca Polihronis has been quick to defend him. "He's not trying to be Michael Jackson", she said, while also asserting that, "he is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin".
It is no secret that one of the main side effects of some laser skin rejuvenation techniques is discoloration of the skin, which could go darker or lighter. But many are of the view that this could be a side effect of some performance enhancing drug, although there is almost nil evidence to support that use of steroids can lead to any skin tone lightening disorders.
In June, it was reported that Sosa had tested positive for a banned drug in 2003.
