The mutual fund industry had a higher rate of assests under their management in April. They company saw a 2.89% increase in there assests from March.

Association of Mutual Funds in India said the AAUM of this field was Rs 7.47 lakh crore. After March, in April the AAUM is Rs 7.69 lakh crore.

HDFC Mutual Fund saw a 6.67% increase with an AAUM of Rs 94,702 Crore. Reliance Mutual Fund had a 1.27% increase with Rs 1.11 lakh crore . UTI Mutual Fund had 0.95% drop .

ICICI Mutual Fund with a 2.53% increase and Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund with 11.49%.

“We saw good inflows into the income fund segment. I believe the segment will grow, as there is a necessity to take a long duration portfolio,” said A Balasubramaniam of Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund.

“This is simply somebody’s losses resulting into somebody’s gains,” said an expert.

Industry officials believe the industry to be more stable, “This is likely to result in better inflows into the equity segment. At the same time, inflows in the fixed-income segment may double this year,” said a CIO.

In April, Fortis MF was at Rs 6,902.15 crore and Deutsche MF was at Rs 10,111.61 crore. Fund houses like L&T MF, Sundaram, Religare MF, SBI MF, Taurus MF, BNP Paribas MF saw an increase of AAUM.

In March the MF industry saw a 5% drop in the AAUM to Rs 7.44 lakh crore. Monthly AAUM of many companies like ICICI Prudential MF, HDFC MF and UTI MF were not available.
