Pregnant Women Beware Of Swine Flu!
The havoc of swine flu has been haunting many since its outbreak in 2008. But the worst part of it has recently been unveiled. It has come to light that pregnant women infected with swine flu had higher chances of experiencing miscarriages.
The findings have sent shock waves to the family members of all the pregnant women. A person with low immune system is prone of being affected with the flu. It has further come to light that expecting mums infected with the flu are prone of giving birth to premature babies.
Following the findings, the Oxford University researchers are urging women to get vaccinated timely. In 2010, the World Health Organization announced victory over the outbreak of swine flu which caused thousands of deaths. However, there are still some chances of it coming back to action.
A person affected with swine flu may show the symptoms of ache all over the body, dry and sore throat and high temperature. Its symptoms are almost same to that of winter flu. But its consequences can be worse if it is not treated timely.
Last year, people were advised to get themselves vaccinated. However, very few number of expecting mum availed the shots. It is hoped that the recent findings would encourage women in getting themselves vaccinated.
As the winter season is drawing near, the authorities are quite concerned about the safety of pregnant women. People are being encouraged to maintain hygiene and to wash their hands with soap so that the spread of swine flu could be limited. Moreover, one should also avoid travelling as, in many cases, the virus causing flu is spread through passengers travelling in the same plane.
Meanwhile, it has come to light that the embryo stem cells have been refrained from patent right which was previously provided to it. The decision has been taken by the European Court of Justice located in Luxembourg.
