Hospital Conducts Poll To Predict Future
It has been revealed in a latest report that George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust in Nuneaton has not been able to provide such services which could help it meet the set criteria by Foundation Trust. The hospital is in need of a partner to assist it in achieving the status.
According to the report, the Foundation Trust had set a target for all the hospitals that come under Department of Health regulations. The target is to be achieved by hospitals by the year 2014 however. But, the George Eliot Hospital is being doubted to be unable to reach the Foundation Trust status.
The reason why it is being facing skepticism of being unsuccessful in reaching the target is high mortality rates as well as financial difficulties of the hospital, reveals the report.
The hospital has also agreed that it would not be able to meet the goal. It is being said that in order to seek patients’ and staff’s opinion about the hospital’s future, the hospital has been encouraging them to freely come up with the same. “We want to make sure we reflect the people’s wishes as we move forward. I am openly and genuinely inviting people to get in touch and feed in their ideas and suggestions”, said Chief executive Kevin McGee.
It has been questioning all members of the public whether or not it would be able to meet the required criteria. As per the findings of the report, people are being asked about what kind of additional services should be provided by the hospital. Also, it is asking people to suggest what services or other requirements are needed to be fulfilled by its future partner. The hospital fears that it would be taken over by a rival if not able to earn Foundation Trust status by April 2014.
