Brewer’s “Dentistry From the Heart” program attracts hundreds of people
Hundreds of people showed up at Brewer Dental Center, 2900 Central Ave., on Saturday for free dental care.
Brewer Dental Center’s nationwide free program “Dentistry From the Heart” offered the option to receive dental care such as cleaning, filling and extraction at no charge.
Normally, cleaning, filling and extraction cost as much as $96, $370 and $495.
Speaking about the initiative, Brewer's marketing director Taryn Reitz said, “They say thank you to us like 80 times each when they finish. They're so overly thankful. It's just heartwarming to be able to help so many people.”
Clinic administrator Doug Meissner claimed that last year's event would have cost patients more than $117,000 had they been charged for the dental services.
Brewer Dental has been holding the annual event for the last seven years, always on the Saturday closest to Valentine's Day.
