Overeating Can Inspire Memory Loss, Claims Study
Making an immensely shocking yet highly important disclosure, a recently conducted study, which was carried out by researchers from the United States, has claimed that intake of a high calorific diet on a regular or frequent basis may well considerably result in increasing the odds of a person falling prey to a variety of health complications, including those in the likes of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), which a medically explained as syndrome that can be identified by mild loss in memory which can later on pave the way for the critical disease known as dementia.
The findings, which were made available prior to the 64th annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology in New Orleans which has been scheduled for the month of April, are likely to revolutionize the world of research in the field of dementia, memory loss as well as the relationship between eating more than needed food and a variety of potentially life-threatening illnesses.
During the course of the meeting, a number of authors will be showcasing the developments and research work done by them in different fields of medical science.
While shedding some light on the effectiveness and significance of the findings of the study which resulted in establishing a relationship between the loss of memory and overeating, an expert from the Alzheimer's Research UK, Dr. Marie Janson, claimed that, ''Although these findings are yet to be published, they touch on an interesting subject. The initial report suggests older people who consume a high number of calories may be at greater risk of developing mild cognitive impairment".
However, the expert further added that it will be indeed a matter of deep fascination to have a look at how many of patients having the above stated condition of memory loss go on to catch dementia in the later phase of their lives as it will help them find a cure for the same so that such cases can be fended off in future.
In addition, it will also help the experts to rope up to a conclusion that whether or not there is any kind of association between the said condition of memory loss and the potentially terminal Alzheimer's disease.
