John Walker-Smith Seeking Justice
It has been reported that a medical professional who was fired from the job for spreading false information over MMR jabs has recently applied to the High Court against the treatment he received during the trial of MMR cases.
The General Medical Council's (GMC), in 2010, announced Professor John Walker-Smith guilty in the controversial case of MMR. In the same year, his license to practice medical science was also confiscated.
Many parents of children with autism are supporting Professor John Walker-Smith. There are many autistic patients who have been provided with utmost care and treatment by John Walker-Smith. He was the one who discovered bowel disease suffered by the autism children.
The lawyer of John Walker-Smith has asked Justice Mitting to rule that during the investigation of the case, John Walker-Smith was not treated well and was even denied of a fair trial. Dr. Andrew Wakefield and John Walker-Smith were together struck off by the GMC.
While announcing verdict over the MMR case, the panel said that the detaching John Walker-Smith’s name from the register was the “only appropriate sanction” for his “extensive failures, non-compliance with ethical research requirements and irresponsible and misleading” reporting of the research findings.
It has been informed that another medical professional, Prof. Simon Murch, who was also alleged of misconduct, was freed from the allegation as he acted in good faith. Professor John Walker-Smith is being supported by a parent group called Cryshame. The group is hopeful that justice would be announced to John Walker-Smith.
The decision taken by the GMC has severely affected the health of kids suffering with autism. In the absence John Walker-Smith, the NHS is finding it hard to provide treatment to the kids affected with autism.
