My expectations for this year are that the
growth of foreign tourists in Bulgaria
will be 7-8%. This was announced yesterday in the resort of "St. St.
Constantine and Elena" by the chairman of the State Agency for Tourism
Anelia Krushkova.
According to her words for the first three
months of this year the growth of foreign tourists over the same period of last
year is 20%. Revenue from international tourism for the same period were 291
400 000 euros, which is 14.8%, recalls BTA.
Krushkova recalled that in 2007 our country
has been visited by over 5 MLN foreign tourists. Revenue from them was 2,284
billion, which is 10.8% more compared to 2006.
President of DAT also announced that an
agreement is about to be signed with South Korea to attract tourists, which has recently been signed with Iran and
the Czech Republic.
The Executive Director of "St. St.
Constantine and Elena" Helena Koseva said that by the end of the year a
project will be implemented an on-channel system of pumping stations in the
resort for removal of waste water, costing 15 million euro provided by the
Utility management activities for environmental protection.
