The buyer of Ljubljana Stock Exchange will be selected on Friday

The buyer of Ljubljana Stock Exchange will be selected on Friday between Vienna Stock Exchange and Athens Stock Exchange, reported Reuters, referring to a company representing Slovenian Stock Exchange.

"On Friday the final bids will be opened and the buyer will be chosen. The minimum price is 600 euros (930 dollars) per share, but I expect that the offers will be higher", said Andrei Zeyn, Managing Director of Arkas.

Price of 600 euros per share would evaluate the whole Stock Exchange to 20.1 million euro.

Operators of stock exchanges in Athens and Vienna were selected in April as final candidates for 81 percent of Ljubljana Stock Exchange, which has been sold. The other candidate-buyers were Warsaw Stock Exchange and Scandinavian market operator OMX.

Zeyn declared that the contract for the purchase will be signed on next Tuesday.

The successful bidder will be selected on the basis of the highest offer because the candidates have already agreed to other conditions, including retention of the head office of the Exchange in Slovenia and further development of capital markets in the country, said Zeyn.

Tenders may reach 1 000 euros per share, according to local media.

The Exchange is owned mainly by local banks and brokerage houses. 187 issues of traded securities are traded on it, and the market capitalization of the listed companies is 21.8 billion euro.

Last year the owners of the exchange rejected the offer of OMX, which offered 125.19 per share, assessing all the Stock Exchange to 4.2 million euro.
