Event: On June 17 (Tuesday) 2008 at 19:00 in Sheraton hotel will be held charity exhibition, auction and cocktail in support of the project of UNICEF "School without violence". Exponents for the event are the works of young and talented artists who oppose violence in schools through their art.
At the cocktail on June 17 all works will be exhibited in the "Art gallery" as some of them will be offered at an auction, and the rest will have fixed selling price. Guests, who wish to buy works, will be able to choose between paintings, sculptures and art installations, among which the technique acryl on canvas, wood and bronze sculptures and ceramics prevail. The works can be seen on the official website of UNICEF Bulgaria www.unicef.bg. Money gathered from the sold works will be provided to UNICEF for the project "School without violence".
The works will be available for the interested in the Art Gallery from 14 till 18 June. Anyone wishing to support the initiative of UNICEF to prevent violence among children in schools can buy some work even before the start of the event.
Host of the evening will be Dimitar Rachkov and the young musicians from New Symphony Orchestra will take care of the musical arrangement. UNICEF Ambassador of good will for Bulgaria Dimitar Berbatov has prepared a special surprise for the participants in the charity auction, as he promised the UNICEF team that he will do his best to attend the event.
"School without violence" is a project for prevention of violence and harassment among children in school, which UNICEF Bulgaria in partnership with the State Agency for Child Protection (SACP) started in 2007/2008 school year. The purpose of "School without violence" is to help the creating of safe and supportive environment in schools in which children can freely share and benefit from their rights. At the core of the project are placed children themselves - their attitudes, values, ideas, dreams and their right to live in security. "School without violence" aims to bring together students, teachers, parents and guidance in the preparation and observance of universal rules based on mutual respect and good relationships that eventually lead to a common school policy which opposes to all manifestations of violence in schools.
