Crisis costs Dutch banks 16 billion euros, says Central Bank

The global financial crisis has cost Dutch banks more than 16 billion euros (22.64 billion dollars) since August 2007, the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) wrote in its quarterly report released Wednesday.
With a loss of 1.5 billion euros (2.12 billion dollars) in the second quarter 2008, Dutch banks suffered less than they did in the first quarter, the report said.
The central bank also said it did not expect substantial price drops on the Dutch residential real estate market as in Great Britain and the United States.
Worldwide, the DNB said, the credit crisis has cost international banks more than 352 billion euros (498 billion dollars) in total.
