Switzerland granted to Bulgaria 76 million francs

Today, the Presidency of the EU Council and the Federal Council of the Swiss Confederation signed an addition to the Memorandum of Understanding between the European Community and Switzerland, determining Swiss financial contribution for the aims of EU enlargement, according to which Bulgaria receives contribution of 76 million Swiss francs.

EU allots 540 million euros for infrastructure projects in Romania

Romania will direct EU funds to the total value of nearly 32 billion dollars for a period of 7 years; it became clear after an announcement by the Finance Minister of the country.

This, according to the minister, would help to increase the total value of the gross domestic product by about 15-20%.

Geoffrey van Orden: Bulgaria may not receive all the money from EU

The former EP registrar for Bulgaria Geoffrey van Orden thinks that it is quite possible our country not receive all the funds from the EU.

The reason is the lack of determination to combat, in his words, the endemic corruption in our country.

15% inflation

National Statistical Institute reported 15 percent inflation.

The average relative increase in consumer prices since the beginning of the year (May 2008 to December 2007) has been 4.7 percent, and for May 2008 compared to May 2007 is 15.0 percent.

Inflation for the period January - May 2008 compared to the same period of the last year is 13.9%, reported NIS.
