Romania will direct EU funds to the total value of nearly 32 billion dollars for a period of 7 years; it became clear after an announcement by the Finance Minister of the country.
This, according to the minister, would help to increase the total value of the gross domestic product by about 15-20%.
In the course of this regional operational program the country will receive around 4.4 billion dollars from the funds till 2014.
During just this month our northern neighbor will sign 14 contracts for building and improving local infrastructure, financed with EU funds.
The total amount of financial assistance coming from the EU is around 540 million euro, said the Minister of Development, Public Works and Housing of Romania Mr. Laszlo Borbely.
According to him, the country has started to work on implementation of such programs since last year and signing of these contracts is their finalization. One of the main tasks which stands in front of the government of the country is improving the infrastructure.
Almost all foreign investors pay attention largely to the condition of the country's roads.
If we have first-class highways, it will be much easier for us to attract foreign capital, the government of our northern neighbor is explicit.
