EU approves opening of two new chapters in negotiations with Turkey

EU gives green light to the opening of two new chapters in negotiations with Turkey to the EU.

Ambassadors of the 27 EU member states approved the opening of "Company law" and "Intellectual property law" chapters. The decision should be officially approved on Tuesday in Luxembourg.

Since the start of negotiations with Turkey in 2005 eight of a total of 35 different chapters have been opened.

This time the 27 decided to open negotiating chapters without controversy. France, which is one of the main opponents of Turkey's admission to EU, has not created difficulties.
