Fake EBay e-mails carry a virus
Mainz, Germany - Computer users should be wary of certain e-mails made to appear as if they have been sent by EBay. Cyber criminals have adapted these to spread damaging software, according to the consumer centre of Rhineland Palatinate in Mainz, central Germany.
The e-mail appears to deal with legal fees in connection with purchases on EBay which prompts some readers to open an attachment. Once opened, the attachment spreads a virus. (dpa)
