Four workers injured in Albanian tunnel cave-in
Three Turks and an Albanian were injured Tuesday when a tunnel in northern Albania where they were working in caved in and buried them, local reports said.
The Turkish nationals were brought across the nearby border with Kosovo to a hospital in Prizren, while the seriously injured Albanian was flown for treatment in Tirana.
The head of the military hospital there Bedri Mihaj said the 35- year-old Albanian has "serious injuries to the head and brain and an internal hemorrhage" and that he was in a coma.
The men, workers of a US-Turkish consortium Bechtel-Enka, were operating heavy machinery in a six-kilometre tunnel that is a part of the 418 million-euros,
170-kilometre highway traversing Albania from the Adriatic to Kosovo.
