Iran's Ahmadinejad congratulates new Pakistan president
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday congratulated Asif Ali Zardari on being elected president of Pakistan.
In a statement carried by official news agency IRNA Ahmadinejad said he hoped that under Zaradri's presidency, Tehran-Islamabad relations would further expand.
Zardari, the widower of assassinated former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, was elected president of Pakistan Saturday by the country's parliament.
