Power Knocked Out by Fir Restored At Kirkwood Ski Resort
Kirkwood Mountain Resort in the Sierra Nevadas was forced to close lifts after a power generator caught fire and is expected to re-open 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
An engine filter over-heated causing a fire in the power generator at about 2:00 p.m., consuming the building that housed it, with the roof catching fire that was difficult to put out.
Skin Rejuvenation Process Cited as Reason for Sosa's Lighter Skin Tone
Recently snapped shots of former Chicago Cubs slugger, Sammy Sosa, have shocked fans and just about everyone all over the world, as the star player has been shown sporting a much lighter skin tone, more like a stark white skin tone, which is total contrast with what people are used to. Also, he seems to be sporting green contact lenses everywhere he goes.
Bob Griese apologized twice to Juan Pablo Montoya
Yesterday Bob Griese, an ESPN broadcaster, apologized twice after the tasteless remark he aimed at the NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya.
During the announcing of the Minnesota-Ohio State game, ESPN displayed a graphic of the top five drivers in NASCAR's Chase for the championship points race. Griese's fellow analyst Chris Spielman inquired where Montoya was and the former replied that Montoya was "out having a taco."
Nadal struggles through over Blake in Beijing
Rafael Nadal broke five times as he struggled before finally controlling James Blake in a battling 7-5, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3 win into the quarter-finals of the China Open Thursday.
Nadal was tested by the American who was once a regular member of the Top 10 before a slide this season which has left him on 24th with only a pair of losing finals to show for his 2009 efforts.
Nadal levelled at three wins each in the series, having begun turning the tables after standing 0-3 in 2006.
