Panasonic Lumix G2 Gets A Touch Screen
Two new additions have been announced to Panasonic’s stable of interchangeable-lens Micro Four Thirds camera today. Hardly surprising, as new Micro Four Thirds cameras from Panasonic at CES or PMA were expected earlier this year. However, fresh details of the new cameras offer an unexpected twist.
Panasonic has gone and added a touch screen interface to one of its two new cameras, instead of adding a larger sensor, changing the form factor, adding body-based stabilization, or making the body itself smaller.
Google Phone to Debut This Week
Google's 3-G compatible smartphone Nexus One, the Internet search and advertising giant's bid to expand its Web brand in the thriving mobile area also, will ring in the New year at its unveiling Tuesday.
Already, Google's Android mobile operating system featuring a number of phones like T-Mobile's G1 END-2008 and the Droid from Motorola recently, has gained a foothold in the market.
However, HTC, a Taiwanese handset maker has designed the Nexus One, with Google selling the Google branded phone sold directly to consumers, without any ties to any one telecom carrier.
Five Percent Increase In U.S. Online Spending Over The Holidays
Data released by comScore Wednesday indicates that online spending in USA rose 5% to $27.12-billion between the beginning of November through Christmas Eve, despite people spending just a little bit less than last year.

Since its release in November, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 after rounding off a series of phenomenal sales figures has shot up as the Christmas No. 1, selling 1.78-million copies of the game in the UK (1.23-million on the first day) in its first week alone.
Chart-Track, the body responsible for monitoring UK video games’ sales, Modern Warfare 2 faced the strongest opposition from FIFA 10, as it jumped to 2nd place from 5th as Christmas comes closer. The following chart gives a run-down on the best-selling games:

Microsoft Sued Over Bing Trademark
In what is a real David vs. Goliath battle, a small St. Louis-based web design company called Bing Information Design! Is suing Microsoft over its Bing search engine, claiming that Microsoft needs to compensate them for stealing the name Bing, the company says it hold the right to use on the net.
The lawsuit specifically states Microsoft’s new search engine causing confusion regarding the relationship between plaintiff and defendant, also tends to confuse the public as to the origin of the plaintiff’s services, including diluting the value of its trademark.
Virus Strikes DHB During Computer System Upgrade
A malicious virus struck the Waikato District Health Board’s computer system Thursday, as it was being upgraded.
After the Conficker virus entered the DHB’s IT system, hospital staff shut down 3000-computers across the Waikato District Health Board (DHB) region, with parts of the system back in use last night.
Conficker gained access to computers running Microsoft software by exploiting a security hole in the Windows Server service used by Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 Beta.
