On Sunday, Apple specifically came out to apologize to customers amidst growing complaints and reports of shipment delays of the recently introduced 27-inch iMac desktop. "The new iMac has been a huge hit and we are working hard to fulfill orders as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience or delay this may cause our customers", said a company spokesperson.
As of now, shipment time for the 27 inch models is at least 2 weeks, while that for the other variants, the 21 inch ones, is within a mere 24 hours.

As reports and issues regarding "flickering" display continue to grow, it has been reported that Apple has delayed shipments of its 27-inch iMac models to resellers, in order to look at the problem more closely.

Apple Gives Independent Designers Opportunity to Build iTunes LP and Extras
With the aim to involve more fans and users of its services, Apple has taken iTunes LP and Extras' development public and is encouraging independent developers to work on "interactive digital content" for these services, which will be distributed in iTunes as early as next year. Apple's initiative is a big move in taking on Abode Flash, pushing adoption of improved web standards and creating a new business model for the company's content, and these changes could change the face of how Apple's upcoming offerings are sold and used.
Apple's Legal Victory Over Psystar
Judge William Alsup, a federal judge has given Apple a sweeping legal victory by ruling Macintosh cloner Psystar Corp. had violated Apple's copyright, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Sounding the death knell for Psystar, the judge has also granted Apple motion for summary judgment, even while denying the counter-claims of Psystar.
Basically, Judge Alsup swiftly and thoroughly ruled that Apple's OS X End User License Agreement (EULA) prohibiting the software installation on non-Apple hardware, is perfectly legal and means exactly what it says.

Microsoft takes bite out of Apple
Can the tight US economy help Microsoft beat back the cavalry charge of its much smaller, but much cooler, competitor Apple?
The software giant from Seattle seems to sense a whiff of opportunity in the air, bombarding the trendy maker of Macs, iPhones and iPods in ads and executive comments for being too expensive in these penny-pinching times.
The latest salvo comes in the form of widely screened TV ads, which show what Microsoft says are real life computer users shopping for new machines.
Apple Could Be Wrong About Shuffle Earbud Compatibility
A strange thing happened while ordering Apple's new iPod Shuffle online, as when checking out, Apple recommended some headphones that seemed incompatible with the Shuffle. Having migrated all of its playback controls to a remote on the headphone cable, the latest third-generation iPod Shuffle replacement headphones also need to include a similar remote to function properly. While, any pair of headphones can be plugged into the new Shuffle, for control over volume, pause, and skip, something a little more specialized is required.
