Microsoft Sued Over Bing Trademark
In what is a real David vs. Goliath battle, a small St. Louis-based web design company called Bing Information Design! Is suing Microsoft over its Bing search engine, claiming that Microsoft needs to compensate them for stealing the name Bing, the company says it hold the right to use on the net.
The lawsuit specifically states Microsoft’s new search engine causing confusion regarding the relationship between plaintiff and defendant, also tends to confuse the public as to the origin of the plaintiff’s services, including diluting the value of its trademark.
Microsoft found guilty in South Korea anti-trust case
A South Korean court on Thursday found US software giant Microsoft Corp guilty of violating anti-trust regulations, but dismissed compensation demands by two rival South Korean companies.
The Seoul district court ruled that the world's largest software provider had abused its dominant market position by bundling programmes with its Windows operating system.
Microsoft Introduces Vine, an Emergency Social Networking Site
According to The Seattle Times, a beta version of Microsoft's Vine, a new social networking service akin to Twitter debuted Monday in Seattle, aimed specifically at keeping friends and family up to date in any emergency.
Used for sending alerts or reports and for communicating with the user's network via PC or mobile devices, Vine appears as a dashboard on a PC screen showing the local community the status of the user's contacts.
