Care Level Of Nearly 4,000 Adult Social Services Criticised
A government inspection finds that as many as 80,000-people are residents of care homes or recipients of services that have been rated as 'poor' or only 'adequate'.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) in its report today, has not only named but criticized severly 8-local councils for their performances in looking after the vulnerable and the elderly.
Baby Boomers Face More Disabilities Than Their Elders
Researchers reporting in the American Journal of Public Health say, baby boomers will face more disabilities than previous generations, imposing heavy burdens on families and society, in the not so distant future.
A definite link was found between obesity and disability in the study, as those who were not obese had no problems with disability, as those who were obese did. Even so, it the study was unable fully explain the disability trend in baby boomers, including following generations.
Thousands Killed Every Year Due To Chemical Cosh Drugs
A damning official report reveals, nearly 2,000 dementia-patients die every year after being wrongly prescribed chemical cosh or anti-psychotic drugs, meant to keep them quiet, including warning 4 out of 5 of the 180,000-patients given such medication are not meant to be on it.
With a strong sedative effect, these anti-psychotic drugs studies show have a tendency to triple the risk of stroke, are commonly given to dementia patients in care homes and hospitals.
U.S. Unemployment Rate Expected to Near 10%

B-2010 priorities are social sector, education, health, environment, road infrastructure, internal order and security.
Projected revenues under the consolidated fiscal program for 2010 amount to 26.4 billion, which is 41.6 percent of the GDP, including tax, and non-tax benefits. Out of them, tax revenues amount to 20.9 billion, non-tax revenues for 2010 - to 3.4 billion and the aids, whose major part are those of the European budget, are estimated at 2.1 billion USD.
