The first Ferrari with such name was issued in 1966/67 and was called Ferrari 365 California Cabriolet. However only 14 cars with such body have been let out. Designing studio Pininfarina has worked over the shape of the new Ferrari California.
The effective cabriolet with landing 2+2 formula and a collapsible metal roof is outwardly similar to the 612 Scaglietti model. Though, having a glimpse at the front of the car, reminds us of some lines of Ferrari F430. Located over one another are the exhaust pipes which bear a strong resemblance to Lexus IS-F.
Under the cowl of California, there is a V8 new motor with direct injection and 460 h.p. Such an unit is capable of bringing Ferrari to 100 km/h for 4 seconds. Transmission is 7 steps with two-disk couplings. Thus the already known system from the 599 GTB "F1 Trac" model will take care of the correct distribution of traction effort.
The same powerful brake system is ready to constrain the powerful motor. And, if on other cars of such class it is necessary to pay considerably extra money for ceramic carbon brakes Brembo, for California they have been put into serial production!
The salon of the noble Ferrari is finished by the most thin leather and guarantees the highest comfort. The price of the cabriolet has not been defined yet, but it will not be less than 150 000 euros.
