Today, the government approved the new higher scholarships for students, graduates and post-graduate students from state universities and scientific organizations.
200 leva more grants will receive post-graduate students and graduates which will increase the monthly scholarships to 450 leva. Changes will take effect from July 1 this year. Furthermore, they will be stimulated financially and timely completion of studies and of dissertation.
From January 1, 2009 representing of dissertation in the three years period of study will bring post-graduate students and graduates a prize of 1 000 leva, and defending it successfully in the allotted one year period after that will bring a second scholarship of 1 000 BGL. Also the maximum amount of student scholarships is planned to be increased from 90 to 120 leva.
The necessary funds for these increases will be provided within the planned in the budget funds for education for this year.
Let us recall that the decision to increase scholarships for students, graduates and post-graduate students from state universities and research organizations was adopted still on April 30, 2008 by the Council of Ministers.
