The biggest European automobile company VW
(Volkswagen AG) announced today that shipments of cars from its leading marks
have increased by over 10 % in April, which is a new record for the division,
forwarded Associated Press.
The company, whose headquarters are located
in Wolfsburg, announced that it has delivered 335 000 vehicles in April, an
increase of 10.3 % over the same month a year ago. Earlier Volkswagen has
forecasted nearly 6 % growth of its sales.
Automobile concern has informed that during
the first four months of 2008 it has delivered 1.25 million cars, which is an
increase by nearly 9 % over the same period last year. This result is also a
record for the company.
VW said that the three leading regions in
deliveries were China supplies with an increase of 21.4 % up to over 305 000 cars; Germany
with growth of nearly 13 % to 172 000 numbers, and Brazil
with an increase of 22.4 % to 168 400 cars.
Europe remained the strongest market for
the company during the first four months, as there have been delivered 4.2 %
more cars - a total of 541 700. Deliveries in Western Europe have increased
by 2.6 % to 488 700 cars, while sales in Eastern
Europe grew by nearly 23 % to 53 000 cars.
