Even if solvent tourists come in Bulgaria, they do not have anything to spend their money on. Such tourists do not buy Turkish bathroom slipper from the street stalls in Sunny Beach, or shop T-shirts with fake trade mark from the market in Varna. We do not have a single hotel that is worth seeing because of its exceptional works of arts which are in it - architecture, paintings, plastic arts, quality of service, commented for VisitBulgaria Rumen Draganov - Director of the Institute for analyses and assessments in tourism.

You said quality service; it seems to be what it missed the most in our home resorts?

Competitive markets withdraw the able and cognizant Bulgarians. Around the world many of our people work in expensive and prestigious hotels, cruise ships and perform well. If this super specialist stays in Bulgaria, he has nowhere to show his skills, nor there anyone to pay his salary. Therefore, Bulgarians, who graduate in main tourist professions - chefs, waiters and all kinds of managers after one or two seasons leave the country and receive salary times higher than here. How is it possible high quality of services to exist?

You cannot deny however, that the new hotels may not be the most luxurious, but look European. What do they miss then?

A fictional hotelier without economic education that chaotically invest money in any design according to the taste of his wife and who relies on omitting to pay the first and last salary of his personnel or to run real employment contracts, is doomed to failure. His hopes may not come true because they are unplanned owing to his low level of education.

State suffers from the same problem because in it many unknowing officials work who do not have the necessary training. This is how I explain myself why the strategy for tourism is too clumsily written. Just one example - in this document is not considered any Bulgarian who travels in Bulgaria, and revenue from tourism in Bulgaria is zero. This set of sheets, which is thrown by the triple coalition, is pure sneer.

You look at terminology! It is spoken only about tourists, no excursionist is mentioned. And these are people who are in the country less than 24 hours, who also spend money here and there and there is revenue from them. It is too incompetent to not know the basic terminology of the World Tourism Organization. This draft strategy is spread across the ministries, is given to senior political figures, people from the branch with the invitation: if you have something to add, add it! But nobody adds anything.
