Winfrey and Jolie top list of Hollywood power women
Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey was named the most powerful woman in Hollywood Friday as the Hollywood Reporter unveiled its annual list of the most powerful females in the US movie capital.
Winfrey was chosen "based on her dizzying array of Oprah-branded media and her immense cultural influence," the trade publication's editor-in-chief Elizabeth Guider said in a statement Friday.
All the other women in the power top 10 were studio executives. Jolie was named the highest earner as her 2008 movies grossed more than 1 billion dollars and allowed her to command more than 15 million dollars a movie. Julia Roberts also at 15 million dollars a film, came in second, followed by last year's top earner, Reese Witherspoon.
