Heart Disease As Old As History
Researchers have found signs of heart disease in 3,500-year old mummies, indicating that even though there was no McDonald's around at that time, even the ancients suffered from the condition linked to modern risk factors, such as, fast food, smoking and a lack of exercise. However, these recent findings reveal that these are not the only reasons that arteries get blocked.
Husband of murdered Egyptian describes ordeal
Dresden,Germany - The widower of pregnant Egyptian Marwa al-Shirbini described to a Dresden court Monday the rapid sequence of events in which his wife was stabbed to death in the same building earlier this year. Elwi Ali Okaz described events clearly, addressing the court in Arabic on the first afternoon of the trial. The 32-year-old was also stabbed and critically wounded in the attack. He still uses crutches.
Egyptian court confirms death sentence for tycoon
A court in Egypt on Thursday confirmed the death sentence for property tycoon Hisham Talaat Mustafa for the murder of Lebanese pop singer Suzanne Tamim.
The court had earlier found that Mustafa had paid Mohsen al- Sukkari, a former Egyptian security officer, to murder the singer in her apartment in Dubai last July.
