Beyond first person shooters: new PC games for June
Computer games have been in the headlines of late for all the wrong reasons: allegations that they contribute to real- life violence.
Such a viewpoint claims that computer games involve no more than marching around with a virtual gun, mowing down anything that moves. Perhaps the bestseller charts for June will defuse that argument a bit.
Zyrianov keeps Russia in the hunt, Bulgaria close in
Konstantin Zyrianov on Wednesday scored the only goal of the match to keep Russia in the hunt for a place at the 2010 World Cup finals with a 1-0 victory against minnows Liechtenstein, while Bulgaria closed in on leaders Italy and Ireland in Group 8.
In Vaduz Zyrianov scored in the 38th minute against the underdogs to secure a victory that sees the Russians move to within a point of the leading Germans in Group 4. Both teams have played five games.
Germany, who are on 12 points, can extend their lead at the top though with a victory in Wales later Wednesday.
Diabetics at a higher risk of kidney and nerve damage
Hamburg - Diabetics not only are at higher risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke, they are also more susceptible to diseases of the eyes, kidneys and nervous system.
But in cases where blood-sugar levels are well controlled, and blood pressure and blood fat levels reduced, the risk is lower, according to Jens Kroeger from Germany's Centre for Diabetology in Hamburg.
